Reporter:

Israeli concerns are growing as the Vienna talks advance towards the signing of the nuclear agreement.

Tel Aviv, that sees itself as the prime loser of this agreement, did not tolerate the positive climate that indicates the imminent signing and the possibility of exempting the (Iranian) Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) from the sanctions imposed by former US President Donald Trump.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid issued a statement publicly pleading to Washington not to remove Iran’s Revolutionary Guards from their (designated global) terrorist list; a statement that reflects Israeli disappointment with the agreement, and encapsulates the failure of Israeli strategy against Iran, as (the statement) pointed out that the IRGC is present across (the region), in Lebanon, Gaza, Yemen, and Iraq, and is behind attacks targeting Americans in the Middle East, according to the allegations of the Israelis.

The position of the occupation government applies to Israel as a whole, as Knesset member Yoav Galant considered that removing the IRGC from the US (designated global) terrorist list is a very dangerous issue.

Simultaneously, the Israeli media supports the official position, which was expressed by the (Israeli) Channel 12 anchor-man: ‘This development greatly worries Israel’. In addition, the Arab affairs correspondent confirmed that the Israelis relayed to the Americans their opinion, and that Israel is definitely against this issue.

Amos Yadlin, Israeli Reserve Major General:

Iran feels that it has a very strong position against the Americans, who are keen on returning to the agreement, and therefore it’s asking for things that have nothing to do with the nuclear agreement, as the agreement has to deal with the nuclear issue only, and all of Iran’s negative activity (carried out) by the IRGC and the Quds Force are not included in the agreement. Surprisingly, the Americans did not turn down this request because they are eager to return to the agreement.

Reporter:

Accordingly, Israel seeks with all its power to publicly incite against Iran in the final hours of the nuclear negotiations and the possibility of (sides reaching an) understanding and signing (the nuclear agreement).
